1. What is your favourite Christmas story & why?

The Hogfather - fun, dark, and filled, and there are monsters.

2. What's your favourite Christmas song?

Carol of the bells - love it when Christmas TV trailers start airing, there's almost always one that uses it.

3. What to you is the true meaning of Christmas?

It's about the darkest part of the year. When everything is hybernating and waiting. I have a smaller feast on yule - something extra special and homemade to mark the shortest day.

But mostly it's getting together with family and eating all the tasty things everyone has made. Laughter, arguments, sharing, and sprouts.

4. What's your favourite Christmas memory?

One year I was leaving my parents house to drive home. I glanced up at the sky, then at my parents in the doorway, spread my arms, said "are you ready?" and it snowed. Should have said Merry Christmas but you can't edit real life.

5. Where would you spend your dream Christmas?

On a ranch or in a castle, somewhere with lots of snow.

6. What is your favourite Christmas film?

The Santa Clause - I wrap presents to it every year. But I'm looking forward to Krampus.

7. What's your perfect Christmas TV?

All of my shows take breaks over Christmas but I love the Dr Who & Sherlock Christmas specials. I don't really have much time for watching TV so if there's something good on I have to watch on catchup.

8. What's the best Christmas presents you've given & received?

Last year I got a brand new computer. I've only had second hand ones for the last 10 years so it's been amazing for writing and researching on.

Best present I've given: live chickens

9. Would you like to spend Christmas in the sun? If so where?

Maybe in the land of the midnight sun?

10. What writing plans do you have for the new year?

I've got a movie script I hope to finish before the new year but that will probably drag into the new year. And a couple of ideas brewing for novellas.

11. What are your new year resolutions?

I don't make resolutions. Better to decide you're going to do something and do it no matter what time of year. You need to act in the moment not wait for some future point in time to make it official.

12. Which actor would you most like to see play Santa Claus?

Hmmm I guess that depends on the kind of movie. Chris Hemsworth perhaps. A more odin style Santa.
