I was so excited to interview the wonderful Kim Culpepper, one of our longest serving writers, who has now added model, film and actress, director, and producer to her list of many talents. We talk about her debut novel, The Blood Talisman, the fact it’s on countdown offer right now.
Also, sequel she is penning, film, acting, motherhood and beyond.
KG: The Blood Talisman, what's it all about in seven words?
KC: Becoming a werewolf, is only the beginning.
KG: What are we getting in the sequel?
KC: More blood, more love triangles, and more ruined lives. you know, fun stuff.
KG: You're a writer, actress, model, mother, what do you like doing the best and why?
KC: Of course, I like being a mother best. I know I have a legacy and they are my little legacies. Beyond that though, I'd have to say writer because I've done that the longest. I can't go a day without writing at least one line whether its in my journal or on facebook.
KG: You've been writing more for the screen of late, what can we expect to see and when. And are you in it fully clothed?
KC: I have two short films in post production right now and a third in pre production and I'm fully clothed in the 1 that i am in. I hope to have them both out to film festivals in the new year and out for everyone by the end of 2017.
KG: If they made a film of your life who would you like to play you and why?
KC: Oh god. Scarlett Johansen I guess, because she's red headed and hot. lol.
KG: What are you wanting for Christmas? Have you been naughty or nice this year?
KC: I just wanna be with my family for christmas. I've spent so much time working on projects that I hardly have family time. I have been naughty of course but 2016 has been a record year in film making for me so I could not be more proud.
KG: If you were to star in my next film "American Sex-kitten In London" would you want to be the love interest or the evil monster/villain crazed pussy and what would you bring to the role?
KC: Haha. evil villain of course. I'd bring what I get most in real life and that is for people to say, "I'm not sure if I should be scared or turned on."
KG: What are your writing, acting, modelling, world domination plans for 2017?
KC: Writing, I am focusing more and more on so I hope to have Blood Talisman 2 out this year as well as a haunted house story I've put on the back burner. I have a project I'll be acting in that will be a Web series that's coming up in the new year. You know, taking over the entertainment world is a lot of hard work.
KG: Is there an actor or director you'd like to work with & why?
KC: I would love to write with Stephen King of course. I'd act with Jack Nicholson because he is my fav actor of all time. I'd be starstruck. and director would have been Wes Craven but now I say Kevin Williamson as a screenwriter would be awesome to team up with.
KG: Apart from the fact it's on a countdown deal. Why should people buy your book Blood Talisman?
KC: Because there is a continuation coming and get it now while it's cheap because you are gonna be hooked on this story about love and blood.
Alex Jacobs gets bitten by a werewolf, and that’s only the beginning of his problems. When his wife is kidnapped and turned into someone beyond recognition, he not only struggles with letting her go but saving her life.
Selene is a powerful witch that not only teaches Alex the ways of the wolf but, also teaches him about restraint and purpose. Her shy innocence quickly attracts him to her and he struggles with feeling torn between the two women. Their feelings for each other are complicated by their battle for the blood talisman, the key to immortality. The Blood Talisman to some means ultimate power to others a way to live forever.
In Kim Culpepper's debut novel, the first in her trilogy, it is quickly learned that immortality comes at a price to all of humanity.
