We are so pleased to announce a new writer to KGHH Publishing. His third novel entitled "Awakening". was published Feb 2018.

We see real potential in David Munro and we are sure you will grow to love his work:

David was born in Edinburgh and lived there until the age of 27.  He was employed by a major brewery within the capital and relocated to Aberdeen, then Glasgow.  David attended university and college to attain chartered status in an arts discipline. As an arts professional and with experience of different cultures, this lends itself to creative literature.

David’s love of history allows him the opportunity to delve into past cultures and pinnacle events. His book, Awakening, has a First World War theme, telling the story of romance and heartache. However, as well as being set in 1914, it follows a time traveller’s journey to 2014, where he also experiences contrasting emotions.

As a writer, David’s ambition is to give his readers enjoyment through interesting stories with compelling characters. Awakening has one male and two female characters that readers will embrace. To achieve recognition for his novel in the form of a best-seller is a goal.

KG: What or who inspired you to be a writer?

The property in which I live. It’s a Victorian residence with a villa and coach house. My debut novel centres on the coach house. (see cover)

KG: What gave you the idea of your latest book?

I once stayed in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, and as it is haunted, introduced a ghost to a WW1 story. The book has a time travel theme set in 1914, 1916 and 2014.

KG: Who is your favourite writer and why?

John Buchan. His use of suspense and compelling characters.

KG: What's your favourite book?

The 39 Steps.

KG: Do you read a lot? If so what are you reading right now?

Any reading I do is research for my novels.

KG: What writing projects are you working on at the moment?

My third novel – Awakening.

KG: What do you like most about writing?

I enjoy all aspects of writing – research, writing and marketing the novel. Writing also transforms me to another place and time.

KG: Where do you see yourself and your writing in five years time?

Having at least five published novels that are well received, and a loyal following. Also, a regular participant at Scottish Book Fairs.

KG: What one writing tip would you share?

Research your project well.

KG: What would you say to educate and inspire young writers?

Be creative, optimistic and follow your dream. Persevere if necessary, because if your work is good enough, you’ll eventually get noticed.
